Employee purchase: a benefit that costs you nothing
Erased, tested devices at attractive prices for your team — handled through a dedicated shop, with invoicing, warranty and support from us. Your IT and HR have zero operational load.
- Dedicated shop per company
- We are seller & warrantor
- No payroll involvement
One device, three winners
Employee purchase is the only recovery channel where everyone gets more than a plain resale would deliver: your staff get a quality device well below market price, your company gets a tangible benefit with no budget line, and devices stay in a second lifecycle instead of recycling.
What this gives your HR communications
- A benefit that's genuinely felt and costs nothing from the budget
- A sustainability story that's credible because it happens in-house
- No admin: no order handling, no cash desk, no warranty cases on your side
Core of the model
We buy, we sell, we're liable
We purchase the devices from you and then sell them to your employees. The purchase contract exists between Mari GmbH and the individual — not between them and your company. That keeps warranty, right of withdrawal, payment and support entirely outside your organisation.
Process
From stock to shop in five steps
Agree stock & terms
We review the asset list, assess residual values and agree with you which devices go into the employee shop and at what pricing.
Erase, diagnose, refurbish
Certified erasure, technical testing, cleaning, removal of inventory stickers, replacing battery or keyboard where useful, installing an OS.
Set up the shop
We set up a closed area for your company: access via your domain or a code, listings with photos, condition, configuration and price.
Communicate & open the window
You get ready-made text for intranet, newsletter and notices. Sales run in a defined window for predictable demand.
Delivery & aftercare
Shipping to a private address or a pick-up day at your site. Afterwards we handle support and warranty directly with buyers.
Tax & legal
The point to check with your tax advisor
If an employer sells a device well below market value directly to staff, the difference can be treated as a taxable benefit in kind. That's exactly why our model works differently: we buy the devices and sell them under our own name at fair secondary-market prices. The price advantage then comes from the secondary market, not from an employer gift.
We explain our model transparently so your tax advisor can review it. We cannot and do not give tax advice for your specific case.
Common pitfalls
- MDM and activation lock: devices must be removed from your management before sale.
- Licences: volume licences for OS and Office are usually non-transferable; we deliver with a standalone licence or without an OS, clearly labelled.
- Fairness: define eligibility upfront — full-time, part-time, leave, contractors.
